Explore Dogsledding
Dogsledding is part of the Inuit DNA. Thanks to the sled dogs man has been able to travel over vast Arctic distances through all times. Today the dog sledding opens a wonderful way into nature. Embark on Explore Dogsledding, a unique way to experience the sled dog and sledding for the first time. The tour is a perfect introduction to sledding and the everyday dog sledding life in Greenland. We encourage you to participate and you are more than welcome to help getting ready, driving and feeding the sled dogs. We drive in the Kisaq valley on groomer made trails to make it more fun for the dogs. At Kisaq we take a break so the dogs can relax. In the beautiful winter surroundings overlooking the view the icefall we get something hot to drink, before we head back through that valley to Dog Town. Back at Dog Town we be pamper and feed the dogs. If it’s the last trip of the day every dog is going home to the doghouses. Explore dogsledding is part of the Greenland Dog Adventure tours and preservation program.

Greetings and introduction
Welcome, introduction, harnessing the dogs, and off you go together with Julia the sled driver.
. We encourage you to participate and you are more than welcome to help getting ready, driving and feeding the sled dogs.

Break at Kisaq
At Kisaq we take a break so the dogs can relax. In the beautiful winter surroundings overlooking the view the icefall we get something hot to drink, before we head back through that valley to Dog Town.
Back in Dog town
Back at Dog Town we pamper and feed the dogs. If it’s the last trip of the day every dog is going home to the doghouses. 🙂

Today I went on a dog sled tour with Hotel Sisimiut and Tours, and our guide Julia gave me a personal experience with nature and the sled dogs that was paw-some!
Julia was like the canine whisperer. She knew each dog's name and personality and introduced me to them like they were old friends. Before I knew it, we were racing across the snow-covered terrain with our new furry besties.
As we glided across the frozen tundra, Julia regaled me with tales of her adventures with the sled dogs and taught me the ins and outs of mushing. I even got to drive the sled, which was a howling good time!
The dogs were so friendly and full of energy, it was impossible not to fall in love with them. And as we took in the stunning views of the Arctic landscape, I felt grateful for this unforgettable experience.
Thanks to Julia and Hotel Sisimiut and Tours for an amazing adventure with the most lovable sled dogs in Greenland. I'll be howling your praises for a long time to come!.

Meet Julia
Julia has a big heart for animals and sled dogs in particular. She has thrown herself wholeheartedly into the Greenland Preservation program to save the Greenlandic Sled Dog.
This season it is mainly Julia you’ll go exploring dogsledding with.
Julia comes from a tradition of dog sled drivers in Sisimiut, but also in her family the snowmobile is slowly taking over.
Both Julia’s grandfathers and mother drove dog sleds and her uncle has taught her to sew harnesses. For Julia, preserving the Greenlandic sled dog is serious business.
She experiments with ways of working with the dogs in such a way that guests can experience these completely unique dogs, which are only found north of the Arctic Circle in Greenland, all year round.
